Misuse of Mobile Phone (A small device can cause big problems)
There was a time when our examinations, ceremonies, or prayers didn’t begin with a warning to tell us to switch off our cells. We were not accustomed to keeping our pockets heavy with extra load. But now, because of mobile phones, all of this is common place.
Undoubtedly, it is a wonderful invention of the modern age that has brought great revolution in our lives. It has enabled us to keep in touch with our near and dear ones all the time. In other words, it is due to the mobile phone that today’s man rarely feels loneliness. Hence, this exciting invention has further strengthened the concept of the world as a global village. However, all things and all systems in this universe have merits and demerits. Unfortunately, mobile phones have had a bad effect on our society and have been the cause of a new public nuisance. The use of mobile phones has become so common in all societies that all and sundry seem to play with this electronic toy. The attractive advertisements, the cheap availability, and easy access are some of the factors involved in making it so popular, often inevitably.

Thus, it is extremely important to minimize the negative effects of the mobile phone. The one possible way is to highlight and publicize its misuse so that a general concept can be developed among the masses.
In this connection, mobile messaging is worth mentioning, as well as the misuse of the mobile phone. Teenagers are at the forefront of the text message revolution. Because text messaging is a non-confrontational mode of communication, a recipient has no way of knowing who has sent the text. So the offensive and harassing text messages become more frequent. Though the phone number of the sender is sent along with a text message, the users have the choice to send texts via the internet. They also have the option of buying new and separate Sims in order to express their irritating thoughts.
Consequently, many children and sensitive people become nervous after receiving abusive and threatening messages. Mobile thefts have leapt by five times in the past few years. It is indeed an alarming fact that the average age of the thief is under twenty. They always desire to own the latest and most expensive mobiles.
It has been observed, particularly in our society, that many mobile users are illiterate. There are many others who use mobile phones just for fun. Such mobile users are a constant cause of disturbance for others. Most of them don’t know how to use the mobile. They always keep the ring volume up and talk aloud on the phone.
Students also make bad use of mobile phones. The mischievous students send messages, sounds, or pictures via infrared or Bluetooth during the lecture.
Moreover, some of them try to use it for cheating purposes in examinations. So this is a real challenge to overcome all these problems. However, it is not an easy task. Neither can the misusers be put behind bars, nor can their use be made discriminatory. Thus, the only choice that we are left with is to develop public awareness.
We need to launch a campaign regarding mobile manners. People should realize the importance of this modern invention by making good use. Conclusively, it is the responsibility of everyone to realize the situation. We need to change the current scenario; instead of wasting our precious time discussing the new trends in mobiles, we must broaden our views and ideas about the world.
